Mallow: Properties and benefits

Mallow is a plant with interesting beneficial properties for our body. Known for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, very useful for irritation and inflammation of the oral cavity (especially in cases of gingivitis). It is a plant very rich in polyphenols and flavonoids and therefore has a powerful antioxidant effect on our body. It therefore fights the harmful action of free radicals and oxidative stress at a cellular level (for this reason some studies suggest that it has preventive properties against various types of cancer, including leukemia). It is a plant which, thanks to its richness in fibre, boasts beneficial effects on intestinal motility and therefore on the correct functionality of the intestine (and, consequently, on our immune system for which the correct functioning of this organ is essential). It is therefore particularly suitable in states of constipation. It also has hepatoprotective and liver-purifying properties. Finally, mallow has beneficial properties for our skin and is very useful in case of skin irritation and inflammation, hives, insect bites, etc. In these cases, we recommend treatment directly on the affected parts through the application of mallow infusion compresses. For internal use it can be consumed in an infusion or decoction also combined with other herbs with similar properties (chamomile, burdock etc.) Finally, mallow has beneficial properties for our skin and is very useful in case of skin irritation and inflammation, hives, insect bites, etc. In these cases, we recommend treatment directly on the affected parts through the application of mallow infusion compresses. For internal use it can be consumed in an infusion or decoction also combined with other herbs with similar properties (chamomile, burdock etc.)
