Barley: Properties and benefits

Barley is one of the most appreciated and consumed cereals in the world. It has a composition and properties similar to those of other cereals (in particular those of corn). Like millet, it boasts digestive properties (it is particularly suitable for children and elderly people with dyspepsia) and anti-inflammatory properties (in particular for the mucous membranes of the intestinal walls and other organs of the digestive system). Its richness in fiber makes it an excellent stimulator of intestinal motility and transit. And therefore very useful in case of constipation. It is rich in group B vitamins (implicated in the metabolic processes of our body and in maintaining good functionality of the nervous and cellular system) and vitamin E (with an antioxidant and protective function of the skin). It is also rich in mineral salts (potassium, magnesium, silicon, iron, zinc, copper etc.). which make it an excellent remineralizer and tonic for our body. Due to its beneficial virtues it is advisable to consume this cereal as much as possible. Excellent if taken in the morning, also as a substitute for coffee, and associated with other cereals with similar characteristics (corn, millet, etc.)
